**Multiplicative Identity of Rational Numbers :-**

Rational numbers have a multiplicative identity of 1, which is 1. According to the multiplicative identity property, a number multiplied by its original number produces a result of 1. Therefore, we can state that a-1 or 1/a is the multiplicative inverse of any number “a”. In other words, if the sum of the two numbers is 1, they are considered to be multiplicative inverses of one another. The reciprocal of a number is another name for a number’s multiplicative inverse.

**What is Multiplicative Identity of Rational Numbers? **

As the result of a number and its multiplicative inverse, a rational number’s multiplicative identity is 1, or 1. The result of multiplying 1 by any number is that number. Therefore, for rational numbers, integers, and whole numbers, 1 is the multiplicative identity. There is a rational number b/a that is the reciprocal or multiplicative inverse of any non-zero rational number a/b such that a/b x b/a = 1.
